Join us for a free concert by Lew Archer and Friends, featuring saxophones, clarinets, and piano, performing works by such composers as Grieg, Schubert, Bach, Villa- Lobos, and more.

 

 

FREE ESL CLASSES TO BE OFFERED AT JOHNSON PUBLIC LIBRARY

The International Institute of New Jersey, in conjunction with the Johnson Public Library, is offering free ESL (English as Second Language) classes. The classes will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Johnson Public Library.

New students are still welcome and should register by calling Jovanna at 201.653.3888.

Weekly Citizenship classes are available on Mondays from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. If interested, please see Isaac Annan at the Reference Desk or call him at 201-343-4169 x21.

We offer a one hour Introduction to the Internet class. This basic course teaches people with limited or no Internet experience how to accomplish a few typical Internet tasks (using a search engine, using the library's online catalog, etc.). Participation in this class is limited to those with Johnson Public Library cards and who owe less than ten dollars on their library cards. Classes are not open to residents of other cities. Please contact 201-343-4169 x 12 if you are interested in signing up for this class or would like more information.

Job searching strategies
Individual assistance is available for those interested in seeking employment. We can show you how to find materials on interviews and cover letters, find a job in your particular field, and use sources to find information about companies. For further information, call Jeannine Feinstein at (201) 343-4781. While an appointment is recommended, there are times when we can accomodate patrons on a walk-in basis.
