Library Hours:
Adult Department
Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday & Saturday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
*Please note that borrowing videos & dvds & use of the Internet ends 15 minutes before the Adult Department closes.

The library occasionally closes due to inclement weather. To check if the library is open, call 201-343-4169 and wait to speak to a staff member. If you only hear the recorded announcements, the library is closed.

Circulation Services:

• Any Hackensack resident may obtain a library card by bringing 2 current forms of ID showing name and Hackensack address. For a complete list of acceptable forms of identification, please click here.
• People employed in Hackensack, but living outside Bergen County, may obtain a courtesy card by presenting a letter from their employer.
• You can view the status of your library card online! First come to the library to create a 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) and then go to www.bccls.org and click on "Your Library Card".
• Items may be renewed at the BCCLS web site, in person, or over the phone.
• You can search the online BCCLS catalog. You may request up to 3 items per day from the online catalog. If you need help searching the online catalog, please ask a Reference Librarian.
• Please read our Library Card Policies to find out what items we lend, how long they can be kept, and what our fines are for late materials.
