Internet Computers
The Johnson Public Library offers 10 public internet computers and one express internet computer. To reserve one of the public internet computers, you must scan your valid adult library card at the reservation station.
If you do not have a library card or have forgotten your card at home, we have one express internet computer you can use. This computer will give you a fifteen minute session.
Black and White Printing is $0.15 per page. After you have clicked "OK" and agreed to the charge for your print, go to the reference desk and pay for your print. The print will be released at that time. Color printing is not available through the general internet computers though individual online pictures can be printed by a reference librarian for $.25 per picture (limit three).
Our internet computers do not have Microsoft Office on them. If you have a Word/Excel document you need to print, you can use the computers in the Periodicals Department. If you have a file saved in your email, you can save it to a flash drive. If you do not have a flash drive, you can borrow one from the reference desk. The internet computers do have Open Office on them and sometimes you can open your file and print it using this software.
Library staff can only give limited assistance with internet computers as time permits. We recommend that Hackensack cardholders who need assistance using the internet take our internet class.
Internet computers shut down automatically fifteen minutes before we close (8:45 p.m. Monday - Thursday; 4:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday). New reservations are not permitted after 8:35 p.m. Monday-Thursday or 4:35 Friday and Saturday.
Word Processing
In the Periodicals Department, we have four computers available for Word Processing. These computers have Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel 2007. They are not connected to the internet. One computer has a color printer and scanner available for patron use.
The Periodicals department closes 30 mins before the library does and Word Processing is unavailable after that time.

These computers can be reserved in advance by phone or in person (up to a week in advance) and can be used for two hours at a time (additional time granted if no one is waiting).
