Circulation Services
Summary
- Any Hackensack resident may obtain a library card by bringing 2 current forms of ID showing name and Hackensack address.
- People employed in Hackensack, but living outside Bergen County, may obtain a courtesy card by presenting a letter from their employer.
- You can view the status of your library card online! First come to the library to create a 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) and then go to www.bccls.org and click on "Your Library Card".
- Items may be renewed at the BCCLS web site, in person, or over the phone.
- You can search the online BCCLS catalog. You may request up to 3 items per day from the online catalog. If you need help searching the online catalog, please ask a Reference Librarian.

Library Card Registration
Proof of Address - In order to get a Johnson Public Library card, Hackensack patrons (excluding middle/high school students) must show two pieces of identification with name and Hackensack address on both. Acceptable forms of identification:
- Lease
- Receipt from rental agency
- Tax bill
- Utility bill
- Driver's license/ state-issued ID
- Bank statements
- Mail which shows current postmark and date, and which was delivered to the patron at that address

The maximum number of items that a patron may have out at one time is 50.
